Creative Drama Camp

Our drama camps are based upon the Creative Drama philosophy which is different than the philosophy of a Theater Camp. Most theater programs are designed with a performance as the focal point and students audition for parts early in the week then study their parts and work on the production preparation leading up to the performance. By contrast, Creative Drama is not performance based. The Brandywine Learning Center is proud to offer a drama camp whose focus is instead on teaching, encouraging, and cultivating each students' acting skills such as voice projection, stage presence, improvisation, building confidence in general and specifically when speaking in front of a group. That said, we do still include a performance at the end of the program because we use it as the vehicle through which the children can apply their skills. Plus it adds a tremendous amount of energy and anticipation to the week. For young and/or beginning actors and actresses, creative drama is a great avenue to take!
